The Rental Shop Supervisor oversees all aspects of rental and retail operations within their assigned store, including managing an Assistant Supervisor and staff. This role is responsible for ensuring excellent teamwork and customer service while managing processes related to rentals, retail, inventory, equipment, profitability, and store atmosphere. The Supervisor helps maintain the fun, safe, and energetic “Sun Valley Lifestyle” within their location.
Duties & Responsibilities:

Maintain a welcoming, safe, and energetic rental or retail experience for guests and rental groups

Oversee daily operations, ensuring sales, profitability, and expense goals are met

Provide product knowledge coaching to staff, ensuring guests receive the right products for their needs and ability levels

Create staff schedules and enforce shop policies and procedures

Maintain a well-prepared rental fleet and retail inventory, ensuring availability of all sizes and products

Re-order retail products from the warehouse, obtain items from other stores as needed, and source substitute products when necessary

Manage merchandising, displays, restocking, and overall presentation of the store in coordination with Merchandising and Buying teams

Perform store opening and closing responsibilities

Operate rental and retail point-of-sale systems with proficiency

Manage potential liability issues by documenting incidents, testing equipment, and coordinating follow-up with the legal department

Perform other duties as assigned
Qualifications:

High school diploma or equivalent required; college degree preferred

Minimum of 2 years of ski-specific work experience, including retail sales, rentals, or equipment repair

Familiarity with mountain resort industry terminology and practices, with strong customer service skills

Previous supervisory experience preferred

Ability to mentor and hold staff accountable while fostering a positive, engaging, and fun workplace
- Engage in physical activities like standing for long periods, walking, and utilizing hands for tasks that involve gripping, handling, and reaching
- Can safely lift and/or move up to 25 pounds and frequently lift and/or move up to 50 pounds
