What are the responsibilities and job description for the Dir of IT, Infrastructure position at Sun Valley Resort?
We are seeking a highly skilled Director of IT to oversee and support technology operations across our ski resort. This role is responsible for managing IT systems, ensuring up time for mission-critical applications, and supporting both guest- and employee-facing technology. The ideal candidate will combine strong technical expertise with hands-on leadership and the ability to operate in a dynamic mountain environment.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Lead day-to-day IT operations, ensuring reliable performance of resort technology systems.
- Manage local team in their support of RPOS/RTP systems, ticketing, and point-of-sale infrastructure.
- Oversee vendor relationships and coordinate with technology partners.
- Provide accountability and technical leadership to IT staff.
- Ensure timely response and resolution of IT incidents and outages.
- Support technology used in on-mountain operations, including ski gates and signage.
- Participate as a partner with local resort leadership.
Qualifications:
- Minimum 5 years of professional IT experience, including system administration and IT operations.
- Relevant IT certifications (e.g., CompTIA, Microsoft, Cisco).
- Strong leadership, problem-solving, and communication skills.
- Engage in physical activities like standing for long periods, walking, and utilizing hands for tasks that involve gripping, handling, and reaching

Can safely lift and/or move up to 25 pounds and frequently lift and/or move up to 35pounds
- Ability to work a flexible schedule, including nights, weekends, and holidays
Preferred Experience:
- Familiarity with Lumiplan, InfoGenesis, and ski gate systems.
- Hands-on experience with RPOS/RTP systems.
- Bachelor’s degree is preferred.
- Experience in hospitality, resort, or recreation industries.
