Job Summary
The Commercial Electrical Estimator is responsible for preparing accurate and comprehensive cost estimates for a variety of commercial electrical projects. This role ensures all estimates align with local, state, and national electrical codes, as well as project specifications and contract requirements for both new and existing work.

- Lead and/or manage complete electrical take-offs for large, complex projects with a focus on accuracy and efficiency.
- Perform electrical calculations and support design development for design-build projects.
- Review and interpret contract documents to define project scope, identify risks, and uncover opportunities.
- Develop detailed estimate breakdowns, including fixture and switchgear schedules.
- Assist in preparing Scope of Work documentation in collaboration with the Senior Estimator.
- Solicit, review, and analyze vendor and supplier quotes to ensure competitive pricing.
- Evaluate subcontractor proposals for inclusion in project bids.
- Support contract negotiations and project award processes.
- Contribute to business development by building and maintaining client relationships.
- Provide guidance and oversight to junior estimators, ensuring consistency and adherence to company standards.
- Participate in project turnover meetings to ensure a smooth transition to operations.
- Perform value engineering to optimize project costs.
- Prepare detailed construction estimates and sub-job breakdowns.
- Process change orders throughout the project lifecycle.
- Submit Requests for Information (RFIs) to clarify design or contract discrepancies.
- Lead pre-bid reviews when assigned.

Required Qualifications
- Minimum of 3 years of electrical estimating experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience
- Ability to complete full electrical take-offs and perform design-build calculations
- Strong understanding and application of the National Electrical Code (NEC)
- Proficiency in reading and interpreting construction documents and specifications
- Experience with Accubid, estimating software, and Microsoft Office Suite
- Solid math skills for cost and labor calculations
- Strong written and verbal communication skills (12th-grade level or higher)
- Valid Florida driver’s license in good standing
- High school diploma or GED
Preferred Qualifications
- Degree or diploma in Construction Management, Engineering, Architecture, or related field
- Bilingual
- Journeyman or Master Electrician license

Schedule & Travel
- Travel to job sites and offices throughout Florida as needed
