SUMMARY: The Theater Event Manager (House Manager) monitors events in District Performing Arts Centers. This position serves as a key member in welcoming out patrons to the Performing Arts Centers, ensuring their comfort and safety, and creating a memorable experience. The Theater Event Manager will have full authority to enforce proper and safe conduct of all persons and activities in and around the reserved spaces. Hours are assigned based on PAC need and worker availability.

Front-of-House Management
- Arrive at least 30 minutes before the Box Office or the House opens. Do not leave the building until it is cleared of all event guests
- Oversee front-of-house operations, including lobby, audience seating areas, and customer experience.
- Monitor use of all front of house areas to assure safety, cleanliness, and appropriate use.
- Coordinate audience safety, including emergency response.
- Coordinate with PAC technical team, custodial, PAC event workers, and PAC volunteers to ensure smooth event operations.
- Welcome guests.
- Arrange late seating to minimize disruption.
- Monitor and assist in the management of attendees. Assure attendees are in appropriate areas and they are respectful to the facility and others at the event.
- Check in with the technical team and get on headset.
- Meet with the technical team and discuss the event flow and needs.
- Open and close PAC doors for event and intermission; call event start to technical team.
- Supervise usher volunteers. Support as needed.
- Serve as on-call support and troubleshooting for Box Office workers. Check Box Office workers in and out.
Education and Experience
- Sufficient house management, event management, stage management, box office, or related experience to perform the duties with independence, professionalism, and judgement
- Strong analysis and decision-making skills
- Effective punctuality, time-management, organizational, and accountability skills
- Ability to troubleshoot quickly and calmly
- Commitment to customer service
- Ability to work independently and collaborate with team members
