Job Summary:
The Strategic Account Manager is responsible for developing, managing and growing relationships with Sun Mountain's largest strategic accounts. Working closely with the Strategic Accounts lead and sales team, this role serves as the primary day-to-day commercial leader for assigned accounts, ensuring strong customer relationships, operational excellence and profitable revenue growth. The Strategic Account Manager will support growth, forecasting and execution with key partners.
The position plays a critical role in supporting strategic accounts while partnering cross-functionally with Sales, Product, Marketing, Customer Service, Operations and Finance to ensure customer success and long-term account growth.
Duties/Responsibilities:
· Lead day to day sales and operations of Sun Mountain strategic accounts (i.e. DSG, Golf Galaxy, PGATSS, Worldwide Golf, Scheels and Golf Town).
· Develop annual account plans and growth strategies for assigned strategic accounts.
· Conduct regular business reviews with customers and internal stakeholders to assess performance, identify opportunities and drive growth.
· Partner with Product, Marketing, Operations and Finance to support new product launches, promotional initiatives and customer programs.
· Monitor sell-through, inventory levels and forecast accuracy to identify replenishment opportunities and inventory risks.
· Utilize retailer reporting, SPS Analytics, EDI data and internal reporting tools to identify sales trends, market opportunities and customer insights.
· Setup SPS Analytics catalog for new product launches. Analyze reports to identify hot selling products and sales trends.
· Identify opportunities to expand distribution, assortment and market share across Bags, Travel, Apparel, Carts and Accessories.
· Support training and development of Strategic Account Coordinators and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives within the Strategic Accounts team.
· Foster a collaborative, customer-focused team environment while ensuring account execution and service levels are maintained.
· Build and maintain strong relationships with key clients along with the Vice President Sales to ensure client satisfaction. Responsible for handling strategic accounts daily operations in the company.
· Develop trusted and long-lasting relationships with customers at multiple levels of their organization to ensure customer’s needs and expectations are properly met.
· Work closely with Strategic Account Assistants and Shipping to ensure strategic account orders are processed and shipped in a timely manner.
· Send all new product launch information, opportunity buys, e-catalogs and pricing to strategic accounts.
· Review and identify methods to achieve monthly sales budgets and comparing vs. forecast. Conduct regular business reviews to assess account performance and strategize for future growth.
· Monitor sales versus forecasts for all product categories of strategic customers.
· Prepares customer setup sheets and catalog information for new product launches.
· Manages all EDI customers. Collaborates with IT and EDI consultants to help set up new EDI customers and test in Syspro.
· Generate monthly marketing co-op and defective allowance reports for strategic clients.
· Review and assist in obtaining signed vendor agreements with strategic accounts.
· Evaluate and understand strategic account routing guidelines and distribute them to team members.
· Understanding the chargebacks process of each account. Research chargebacks and short shipments and dispute.
· Travel to accounts, attend and participate in trade shows as necessary.

Required Skills/Abilities:
· Must be detailed oriented, communicate effectively via oral and written and can work independently as well as in a team environment.
· Excellent problem-solving abilities to identify client challenges, propose innovative solutions, and drive business growth.
· High energy, a positive attitude and comfortable with working in a fast-paced environment.
· Ability to multi-task, adapt to assignment changes easily and learn office procedures and software, such as Syspro, SPS Commerce, Repspark and Microsoft Suite.
· Anticipated travel as needed to attend strategic customer business meetings and Trade Shows.
· Passion for golf and understanding of the golf industry is a plus.
Education and Experience:
· Bachelor’s degree in business, marketing or a related field preferred.
· 5 years of product sales and account management experience in a competitive environment, with a proven track record of success, preferably in retail or sports industry.
