Route Coordinator
We are seeking a highly organized and proactive Route Coordinator to manage daily route operations, drive service growth, and oversee driver training for a large Dry Cleaning operation.
Daily Tasks & Operations
- Hours:
- Monday- Friday: Typically 7:00 AM - 3:00 PM
- Working hours are subject to and will change based on factors such as, but not limited to, business volume, operational or personnel issues, traffic conditions or modifications to assigned tasks.
- Monday- Friday: Typically 7:00 AM - 3:00 PM
- Manifest & Planning: Generate all manifests for route drivers and assist drivers with route planning and organization.
- Customer Setup: Prepare new customer packets with bags, hooks, and necessary materials.
- Monitoring & Organization: Monitor Route tracking for potential problems or errors, and ensure route racks and work areas are organized and clean.
Ongoing Responsibilities:
- Growth Promotion: Identify areas for route growth and actively work to promote route service.
- Canvassing: Target communities with limited stops but many potential customers (Area Canvassing).
- Customer Retention: Reach out to customers who have stopped using the service to address any issues they may have had.
- Route Coverage: Cover routes when other drivers are unavailable.
Driver Training & Management
- Onboard and train all new route drivers.
- Maintain communication with customers to assess satisfaction with route service.
- Ensure all drivers are in Sun Country uniform tops and acceptable walking shorts or pants, and closed-toe shoes.
- Host a weekly defensive driving training meeting with all drivers, which includes new business updates and follow-up on ongoing items.
Requirements
- Availability & Flexibility: Ability to work Monday–Friday, typically 7:00 AM–3:00 PM. Must be flexible, as working hours are subject to, and will, change based on business volume, operational or personnel issues, and traffic conditions.
- Organizational Skills: Must be highly organized and proactive.
- Leadership: Ability to effectively manage, assist and coach route drivers daily with all aspects of their route.
- Growth Focus: Ability to identify areas for route growth, promote route service, and actively engage in area canvassing to target potential communities.
- Customer Service & Retention: Ability to maintain communication with customers to assess satisfaction and effectively reach out to customers who have stopped using the service to address issues.
- Training and Management: Experience in onboarding and training new route drivers. Must be able to host a weekly defensive driving training meeting with drivers, covering new business updates and follow-up on ongoing items.
- Operational Coverage: Must be prepared to cover routes when other drivers are unavailable or call out.
