We are seeking a motivated and dependable Office Furniture Driver and Installer to join our dynamic team. In this role, you will be responsible for safely transporting office furniture and related materials to client locations, ensuring timely deliveries, and expertly installing furniture to meet customer specifications. Responsibilities
- Safely operate various delivery vehicles, including box trucks and personal vehicles, adhering strictly to DOT (Department of Transportation) regulations and traffic laws.
- Load, unload, and secure office furniture and equipment using manual handling techniques and material handling equipment such as pallet jacks and forklifts.
- Drive route schedules efficiently, ensuring on-time deliveries while maintaining a high standard of customer service.
- Install office furniture systems, including assembly and positioning, following detailed instructions and client requirements.
- Conduct thorough inspections of vehicles and equipment before and after each shift to ensure safety compliance.
- Communicate effectively with clients during delivery appointments, providing excellent customer service and addressing any questions or concerns professionally.
- Maintain accurate delivery logs using mobile devices or other digital tools, documenting all load & unload activities and route details.
Qualifications
- Proven warehouse experience with a strong understanding of warehouse operations and manual handling practices.
- Valid driver’s license or equivalent with experience operating box trucks or similar commercial trucks.
- Experience in delivery driving, especially involving office furniture or similar large items.
- Knowledge of safe lifting practices, heavy lifting techniques, and weight handling in the workplace.
- Familiarity with material handling equipment operation such as forklifts, pallet jacks, or similar tools is preferred.
- Ability to adhere to traffic regulations, DOT standards, and safety protocols at all times during driving and installation tasks.
- Strong customer service skills with the ability to communicate clearly and professionally with clients.
- Comfortable working with mobile devices for route navigation, documentation, and communication purposes.
- Physical capability for manual handling, moving heavy items safely, and performing manual tasks required during installation processes.
