Job Title: Maintenance Technician
Location: Salida, Colorado
Job Summary
The Maintenance Technician will be responsible for performing a variety of maintenance and repair tasks to ensure all apartments, common areas, facilities and grounds are maintained in excellent condition and provide a safe, comfortable environment for residents.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform routine inspections of apartments, buildings, hallways, stairwells and other common areas to identify and resolve maintenance issues.
- Complete work orders for repairs promptly and efficiently (e.g., plumbing, electrical, HVAC, carpentry, and appliance repairs).
- Conduct preventative maintenance on systems and equipment to reduce the likelihood of future issues.
- Prepare vacant apartments for new residents, including painting, cleaning, and making necessary repairs.
- Respond to emergency maintenance requests during and after business hours, as part of an on-call rotation.
- Assist in maintaining the exterior grounds and landscaping, including seasonal tasks like snow removal or minor lawn care.
- Ensure compliance with safety procedures and building codes.
- Maintain accurate records of maintenance requests, repairs completed, and inventory of tools and supplies.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent required; technical training or relevant certification (HVAC, electrical, plumbing, etc.) preferred.
- Proven experience as a maintenance technician, handyman, or in a similar role.
- Basic knowledge of electrical, plumbing, carpentry, and HVAC systems.
- Ability to use hand tools and power tools safely and effectively.
- Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Good communication skills and ability to interact professionally with residents and team members.
- Ability to work independently and manage time effectively.
- Must be able to lift up to [50 lbs] and perform physically demanding tasks.
Work Schedule
- Full-time, typically Monday–Friday.
- Must be available for occasional evenings, weekends, and on-call emergency situations.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $23.93 - $28.82 per hour
