Benefits & Payroll Specialist
Consulting Role / Hybrid (3 days a week in office / 2 days "work from home")
Midtown Manhattan, NYC HQ
Our client, a well-established and longstanding firm within the financial services space based in Midtown Manhattan, is seeking a Benefits & Payroll Consultant to join their team. This role is ideal for someone who is detail-oriented, highly responsive, and comfortable operating in a fast-paced environment while supporting both payroll and benefits functions.
Responsibilities:
- Oversee the administration of employee benefits programs, including medical, dental, vision, life, disability, FSA, 401(k), and leave of absence programs.
- Act as a key point of contact for employees, handling payroll and benefits-related inquiries with a strong service-oriented approach.
- Process multi-state payroll for 150 employees on a semi-monthly and monthly basis, ensuring accuracy and compliance with all applicable regulations.
- Maintain and update employee records within HRIS platforms such as Workday, ensuring data integrity across systems.
- Prepare payroll reporting, employment verifications, and assist with tax reconciliations.
- Support compliance with federal, state, and local payroll and benefits regulations.
- Assist with internal and external audits by providing documentation and maintaining organized records.
- Generate both recurring and ad hoc reports for HR, Finance, and leadership teams.
- Participate in special projects and broader HR initiatives as needed.
Qualifications:
- 3-5 years of experience across payroll processing and benefits administration.
- Experience working with systems such as Workday and/or ADP Workforce Now.
- Strong Excel skills, including Pivot Tables and VLOOKUP.
- Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Accounting, or a related field preferred.
- CEBS certification is a plus.
