Electronics Rework Technician
Type: Direct Hire / Full Time
Location: Indianapolis, IN
Shift: 7:00am to 3:30pm - Monday / Friday
Pay: $22-$30 (based on experience)
Summit Staffing is currently sourcing qualified candidates for an Electronics Rework Technician opportunity with one of our valued clients.. Our client is an electronics manufacturing and engineering services provider specializing in printed circuit board assemblies (PCBAs), electronic manufacturing, testing, inspection, repair, and rework. They support customers from prototype development through production while maintaining high standards for quality and workmanship.
POSITION SUMMARY
The Electronics Rework Technician is responsible for inspecting, repairing, and reworking electronic assemblies and printed circuit boards. This position performs soldering, desoldering, component replacement, PCB repair, and other rework activities while following IPC standards and manufacturing specifications.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Inspect electronic assemblies and identify defects requiring repair or rework.
- Perform soldering, desoldering, component removal, and replacement.
- Perform PCB trace repair and other board-level modifications.
- Perform rework in accordance with IPC-7711/7721 standards.
- Inspect assemblies using IPC-A-610 criteria.
- Read and interpret schematics, assembly drawings, and work instructions.
- Use microscopes, soldering equipment, hand tools, and inspection equipment.
- Follow ESD procedures and established safety and quality requirements.
- Document repairs and inspection results.
- Maintain a clean and organized work area.
EDUCATION / EXPERIENCE
- High school diploma or GED required.
- At least 1 year of electronics assembly, repair, or rework experience preferred.
- Experience with hand soldering, component replacement, and PCB repair.
- Ability to read schematics and technical documentation.
- Experience using microscopes and electronic inspection equipment preferred.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality.
CERTIFICATIONS / KNOWLEDGE
- IPC-A-610 knowledge or certification preferred.
- IPC-7711/7721 knowledge or certification preferred.
- J-STD-001 knowledge or certification preferred.
- Familiarity with ESD procedures and electronics manufacturing standards.
