Summit Skilled Solutions currently seeking an experienced Forklift Mechanic for a full-time shop-based position repairing and refurbishing forklifts. This role is ideal for a hands-on mechanic who enjoys diagnosing issues, performing repairs, and keeping equipment operating safely and efficiently.
This position focuses on in-shop work, maintaining and restoring forklifts and related equipment. Candidates should have strong mechanical troubleshooting skills and the ability to work independently while maintaining quality standards.
Key Responsibilities
Diagnose mechanical issues and perform accurate repairs on forklifts and related equipment
Perform preventative maintenance and refurbishment work
Order and track parts needed for equipment repairs
Complete service documentation including timecards, parts requisitions, and detailed descriptions of work performed
Maintain company-owned service tools in proper working condition
Keep the shop and work areas clean, organized, and safe
Assist with loading and unloading forklifts and pallets from trucks
Clean and service lead-acid forklift batteries
Help maintain proper inventory levels of parts and supplies
Follow all company safety procedures and utilize proper safety equipment
Requirements
5 years of experience as a forklift mechanic, heavy equipment mechanic, or automotive mechanic
Ability to read and interpret repair manuals and service guides
Must have your own mechanic tools required for the trade
Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
Good written and verbal communication skills
Strong organization and time management abilities
High school diploma or equivalent preferred
