Summit Service Solutions has supported skilled trades for 20 years. We’re hiring an experienced electrician to support a long-term engagement at a manufacturing facility in Lancaster, PA. This is a full-time, first-shift role offering $30–$35 per hour, depending on experience.
A day in the roleYou’ll arrive on site, sync with production, and prioritize work that keeps lines moving. From running feeders for a new packaging line to validating PLC I/O before a changeover, you’ll balance quality workmanship with minimal downtime.
Power Distribution- Install and modify industrial distribution systems
- Set and connect switchgear, transformers, disconnects, MCCs, and panels
- Run feeders and branch circuits for new equipment
- Confirm voltage, phasing, rotation, and load capacity
- Hook up and commission production machinery
- Move, reconnect, and validate existing equipment after relocations
- Install motors, VFDs, control panels, and enclosures
- Pull, terminate, and label power and control wiring
- Troubleshoot electrical and controls issues to reduce downtime
- Integrate PLC-based automation (including Siemens platforms)
- Wire sensors, limit switches, photo eyes, and field devices
- Verify communications, signal integrity, and I/O mapping
- Test, validate, and document correct machine operation
- Perform electrical testing and verification
- Work to NEC, OSHA, LOTO, and GMP standards
- Keep the area safe while production stays on track
- Execute preventive maintenance as needed
Background in high-volume manufacturing (plastics, food & beverage, packaging, pharmaceutical, or similar) is highly preferred.
What you bring- 6 years as an Industrial Electrician in manufacturing/industrial settings
- Ability to read electrical blueprints, schematics, and wiring diagrams
- Journeyman or Master Electrician license preferred
- Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation
- Personal basic hand tools and electrical tools
- Must successfully pass a pre-employment drug screen (We are a drug-free company)
- Must be authorized to work in the United States
- PLC troubleshooting and programming exposure
- Electrical schematics; blueprint reading
- Electrical diagnostics and repair; installation; panel builds
- National Electrical Code (NEC)
- PLC wiring experience
- Electrical/electronic systems
- Conduit work: pulling, bending; RMC, EMT, IMC
- Industrial electrical systems and heavy-equipment diagnostics
- Variable Frequency Drives (VFD)
- Programmable Logic Controller (PLC) — Siemens
