Summary
Direct Care Staff provide hands-on support and supervision for individuals with developmental and physical disabilities. This role focuses on assisting with daily living activities, implementing program activities, and ensuring a safe, respectful, and person-centered environment.
Key Responsibilities
Participant Care & Support
- Supervise individuals during daily program activities
- Assist with activities of daily living (ADLs), including restroom support, feeding, and hygiene
- Support implementation of Individual Service Plan (ISP) goals
- Respond to medical needs and emergencies as needed
Program Activities & Engagement
- Implement daily activities using person-centered practices
- Support participation during group activities and community outings
- Assist with transporting individuals to/from outings (if applicable)
Documentation & Reporting
- Maintain accurate records, including goal tracking, meals, and restroom logs
- Report concerns or incidents to supervisors and assist with incident reports
Program Support
- Assist with meal preparation and serving (snacks/lunch)
- Help maintain a clean, safe, and organized facility (daily chores)
- Support training of new staff as directed
- Attend required trainings and staff meetings
Compliance & Safety
- Follow all company policies and procedures
- Comply with Title 17, Title 22, and all applicable regulations
- Act as a mandated reporter and ensure the safety and rights of all individuals
Physical Requirements
- Ability to lift and transfer up to 75 lbs (repetitively)
- Ability to stand, bend, and stoop frequently
- Ability to assist individuals with significant physical disabilities
Qualifications
- Must be 18 years or older
- High school diploma or GED required
- Valid Driver’s License or ID and authorization to work in the U.S.
- Ability to pass background check, physical exam, TB test, and CPR/First Aid certification
- Strong communication and teamwork skills
Preferred:
- Experience working with individuals with developmental disabilities
- Experience with challenging behaviors
Pay: $18.00 per hour
