What are the responsibilities and job description for the Director of Nursing position at Summit Malibu?
Summit Malibu, a luxurious, prominent 6-bed detox/residential treatment facility is seeking a full-time, experienced Registered Nurse for 40 hours per week. Treatment experience and Kipu experience preferred. Compensation DOE.
Primary responsibilities include:
* Assesses client current conditions, health problems and/or needs
* Assesses client for drug intoxication and withdrawal
* Demonstrates the ability to establish rapport with clients, staff and providers
* Communicates effectively with outside physicians and other appropriate parties in order to plan, deliver and evaluate care
* Documents assessments in accordance with policies and procedures
* Demonstrates knowledge of detoxification protocol and medications used in the detoxification process
* Observes and monitors while all medications are self-administered by clients
* Reports incidents of suspected/known abuse/neglect to the Supervisor and complies with all mandatory reporting laws
* Documents medication count, management and destruction
* Documents CWS/CIWA assessments
* Supervise LVNs and EMTs to ensure adequate and quality care is provided at all times
* Conducts performance reviews for LVNs and EMTs
* Schedules medical appointments for clients
* Documents daily progress notes, daily shift reports and detox nursing plans
