What are the responsibilities and job description for the Microsoft 365 Administrator position at Summit IT Solutions?
The Microsoft 365 Administrator will be responsible for designing, managing, and optimizing Microsoft 365 environments for our various clients while also providing friendly top-notch technical support. The Microsoft 365 Administrator will engage with current and prospective customers in a consultative capacity to address their business needs through the effective use of the Microsoft 365 platform. This position will be expected to possess a strong technical background, excellent problem-solving skills, and a passion for customer service.
Primary Responsibilities
· Design, configure, and manage Microsoft 365 services, encompassing but not limited to Exchange Online, SharePoint Online, OneDrive for Business, Power BI, and Power Automate.
· Serve as subject matter expert for technical issues related to Microsoft 365 applications.
· Implement and enforce security policies, including multi-factor authentication and data loss prevention.
· Stay updated on the latest Microsoft 365 features and best practices to enhance productivity and collaboration.
· Provide training and guidance to users on Microsoft 365 applications and features.
· Assist in creating technical documentation for products and services Summit IT Solutions offer.
· Assist staff with escalations.
· Provide expert technical support to clients, resolving issues and ensuring smooth system operation.
· Perform continuous personal technical growth – IT certifications, etc.
· Conceptualize, design, and propose advanced Microsoft 365 solutions to existing and potential customers.
· Other duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in information technology or equivalent experience and technical certification
- Five or more years’ experience in an IT support role
- Proven experience with Microsoft 365 management, support, and PowerShell
- Applicable knowledge cybersecurity principles and best practices
- Strong understanding of IT related hardware, software, and services
- Familiarity with service desk ticketing systems and ITIL principles is a plus
- Strong passion to learn and apply new skillsets
- Ability to communicate effectively with customers in a courteous manner, providing quality solutions, and can communicate technical concepts to non-technical users
- Strong organizational, planning, and decision-making skills
- Ability to work in a team environment
- Ability to create positive and collaborative working relationships
- Excellent written and verbal skills
- Passionate drive to provide superior service to clients
- Valid US Driver’s License
Working conditions
This position operates in a professional office environment. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, printers, and phones. Travel to client locations will be required.
