The Assistant Athletic Director will provide administrative support for the planning, direction, implementation, supervision, and assessment of interscholastic athletics and activities that foster skill development, sportsmanship, understanding of sports, and appreciation of being a team member.
Primary responsibilities include supporting management of the athletics and activities programs at the High School. Duties include ongoing contact with students and families; hiring referees; administering athletic paperwork; coordinating use of athletic facilities; hiring, training and supervising extracurricular athletics and activities staff; assisting program heads with equipment storage and inventory; scheduling team transportation; and creating athletics schedules.

This position reports to the Athletic Director while working to elevate the various functions of the Athletics and Activities department.

Responsibilities:
- Work with students, parents, faculty and administrators as part of the Athletic Office administrative team.
- Assist in the selection and assignment of coaches and staff.
- Organize and schedule interscholastic athletic events.
- Hire officials and game-day staff: timers, ticket-takers, scoreboard staff, announcers, game administrators, and event staff.
- Assist Athletic Director in payment for officials.
- Arrange and confirm bus or other transportation for athletic participants.
- Coordinate practice schedules for gym and fields.
- Organize and update the athletics section of the SJP website.
- Enter and maintain the roster in Veracross.
- Write and post alerts and/or messages to students, parents, and families in regards to athletic updates, cancellations, changes, etc.
- Game day operations: supervisor and assistant at home games during the school year (afternoons, nights, and weekends).
- Maintain paperwork required by the MIAA, per season, per sport.
- Perform any other duties as assigned by the Principal and Athletic Director.
- Organization and preparation of weekly athletics and activity home events
- Ensure facility reservations for all HS activities and Athletic events
- Create and submit for payment game contracts for athletic officials
- Assure physical examinations, insurance, doctor releases and athletic transfers per CHASSA of all athletes prior to the beginning of each season.
- Maintain accurate student records in the areas of athletics, schedules, rosters, create athletic programs, and other print materials, confirmation of all athletic/activity events with participating parties.
