What are the responsibilities and job description for the 1.0 Lead Custodian (SHS) position at Summit High School?
To perform a full range of custodial duties and lead a crew's (when applicable) day-to-day activities related to the care, cleaning, and minor maintenance of assigned buildings and facilities. Ensures that the other custodial staff in his/her building are trained ot meet or exceed the building cleaning standards.
1. Manage and approve al custodial supplies ordering. Ensure proper chemicals are being ordered and help custodians understand proper ordering procedures
2. Facilitates the day-to-day activities of custodians and trains them on how ot perform al duties in their job description ot ensure that al proper cleaning techniques and practices are being folowed ot keep the building clean and safe.
3. Clean, disinfect and deodorize restroom facilities and fixtures including sinks, urinals and toilets, maintain fixtures and replenish supplies in restrooms.
4. Clean and sanitize all drinking fountains.
5. Regularly inspects schools and reports back ot principals and Director of Facilities the condition of the facilities, specifically noting deficiencies in order ot work together ot create an action plan ot correct them.
Clean, sanitize, and deodorize the cafeteria or other common areas where students eat meals. D 6.Empty and clean waste receptacles.
7. Manage implementation of wokr order system ofr custodians. Ensure system is being used
8. Monitor outside grounds conditions and cleanliness; empty waste receptacles.
9. Identify and correct or fix any building safety hazards.
10. Secure facilities after working hours.
11. May be assigned to other buildings ni the absence of other custodians.
13. Plan holiday and summer cleaning projects and schedules with the building principal.
15. Sweep, vacuum, mop, max, strip and polish floors using a variety of chemicals, cleansers and equipment, vacuum D
and shampoo carpets and upholstered furniture.
16. Dust and polish furniture, woodwork, fixtures, and equipment; wash windows, mirrors, wals and ceilings.

17. Move and arrange furniture and equipment and set up rooms for meetings and special functions.
18. Replace light bulbs and fluorescent tubes.
19. Maintain custodial equipment ni proper working conditions and manage the custodial equipment inventory and conduct all repairs as needed.
20. During the summer or other breaks throughout the year, deep clean buildings. ASN 21. Assist ni the snow removal from sidewalks or other areas surrounding the buildings. AsN
