Lead CT Technologist- Full Time- Day Shift

General Position Summary:

Responsible for performing high quality diagnostic and CT images in the Diagnostic and Outpatient Pavilion Imaging Departments.

Essential Functions / Major Responsibilities:

·         Conducts various high quality CT and radiographic images.

·         Receives and confirms orders for exams.

·         Completes staff scheduling and daily schedules.

·         Supervises staff/student trainings.

·         Develops policies and procedures for CT for the hospital.

·         Maintain accurate records.

·         Provides Quality Assurance and ensures the CT department complies with all State and Federal regulations.

·         Supervises CT Technologists.

·         Direct the daily operation of the CT dept.

·         Assists Director with oversight on CT related contracts.

·         Maintains supply ordering.

·         Reviews Resource Scheduling changes with Director.

·    Displays proper etiquette and mannerisms that reflect the Shine Behavior Standards.

·         Promotes the Patient Safety Standards as a core value of the organization.

·         Provides administrative oversight for the CT department.

·         Assists with Peer interviews.

·         Acts as a patient advocate.

·         Organization of monthly outdates.

Secondary Functions:

·         Assists in other modalities as needed.

·         Transports patients.

·         Answers and directs phone calls.

·   Participates in departmental and hospital-wide informational meetings and in-services, including staff meetings, hospital-wide forums, and seminars.

·         Reviews department and hospital-wide policies and procedures annually.

·         All other duties as assigned.

Additional / Seasonal Responsibilities:

·         Takes “on-call” status when required.

Specific Job Skills & Mental Activities:

This position requires operational knowledge of all office equipment in the Diagnostic Imaging department, including: fax, printer, phone systems, computer, and commonly used hospital computer programs (including Hospital Information Systems, MS Office, e-mail, and internet). Must be able to read, write, speak, and understand English. Must also be service oriented and have excellent customer service skills, computer skills, problem-solving skills, organizational skills, multitasking skills, professional interpersonal skills, time management skills, the ability to prioritize work, and telephone etiquette.

Education and/or Experience:

·         High school diploma or equivalent (required).

·         BLS/CPR certification (required within 30 days of hire date).

·         ARRT licensure for Radiology and CT licensure (required).

·         MRTBE licensure CRT and CTCT (required).

·         Basic computer skills (required).

·         1-2 years related experience (preferred).

Physical Demands & Job Conditions:

Exert up to 100 lbs. of force occasionally, and/or up to 50 lbs. of force frequently, and/or up to 20 lbs. of force constantly to move objects. The worker is exposed to contact with chemicals and infectious fluids, heavy lifting, constant standing, extensive close work, extensive computer work, and encounters with upset or disturbed individuals.

Physical motions include finger dexterity, standing, walking, stooping, talking, reaching, feeling, sitting, bending, kneeling, grasping, listening/hearing, handling, lifting up to 100 pounds, and repetitive motions of the hands, wrists, and feet.
