Infant/Toddler Float Teacher — Summit Early Learning Center
Summit Early Learning Center in Durango, CO is looking for a warm, dependable, and flexible Infant/Toddler Float Teacher to join our team!
Pay: $16.00–$20.00 per hour, depending on experience and qualifications
Schedule: Monday–Friday, 9:30 a.m.–5:30 p.m.
This position is a great fit for someone who loves working with young children and enjoys being an important support to multiple classrooms throughout the day. You will help provide breaks for teachers, float between our infant and toddler classrooms as needed, and help close our infant classroom at the end of the day.
What You'll Do
- Provide nurturing, responsive care for infants and toddlers
- Float between infant and toddler classrooms based on classroom needs
- Help provide staff breaks throughout the day
- Support teachers with daily routines, activities, and classroom responsibilities
- Assist with feeding, diapering, comforting, and other daily care needs
- Build positive and trusting relationships with children
- Help maintain safe, clean, organized, and engaging classrooms
- Assist with closing the infant classroom each afternoon
- Work collaboratively with teachers and step in wherever support is needed
- Communicate positively and professionally with families and coworkers
- Follow Colorado Department of Early Childhood licensing regulations and center policies

Qualifications
- Previous experience working with infants and/or toddlers is strongly preferred
- Must meet Colorado Department of Early Childhood requirements or be willing to work toward the appropriate qualifications
- Ability to lift children, sit and play on the floor, and actively participate throughout the day
- Strong communication and teamwork skills
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and professionalism
- Commitment to providing safe, responsive, and nurturing care
