Our internship program is an excellent opportunity for college students to learn first-hand what a career in construction is all about! Our interns work side-by-side with our project managers, project engineers, estimators and superintendents to gain exposure to all the necessary fundamentals of the construction process.
Responsibilities
Our interns will be exposed to all aspects of managing a construction project from project budgeting & bidding; to daily management procedures, to punchlist creation and inspections; to final project close out. Some duties and responsibilities include:
- Assist Project Managers and Field staff with project coordination.
- Coordinate subcontractors, materials, scheduling, inspections, quality control, and safety.
- Assist in ordering the necessary materials for project completion.
- Collaborate with Subcontractors to ensure adherence to project schedules and budgets.
- Participate in team meetings.
- Assist with RFIs. submittals, and quantity takeoffs
- Analyze drawings and project specifications.
- Assist in providing estimates for hard bid, negotiated and conceptual projects.
Requirements
- Seeking a Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Engineering or Construction Management curriculum is preferred.
- A general knowledge of construction principles/processes and a valid interest in pursuing a career in Construction/Project Management.
- Experience with computer applications for spreadsheets, word processing and scheduling is preferred.
- Strong written and verbal skills and the ability to work in a fast-paced and customer service-oriented environment.
- The ability to perform duties under pressure and meet deadlines in a timely manner.
