A growing mechanical contractor is seeking a Plumbing Estimator to support multifamily and large-scale residential construction projects across expanding regional markets.
The ideal candidate brings a strong understanding of plumbing systems, estimating processes, and construction operations, along with the ability to work collaboratively with operations, project management, and business development teams.
Responsibilities
- Prepare detailed plumbing estimates including labor, materials, equipment, and subcontractor/vendor pricing
- Analyze project drawings, specifications, and bid documents to develop accurate scopes and pricing strategies
- Assist with conceptual budgeting and early-stage estimating when complete construction documents are unavailable
- Review project documents to identify scope gaps, constructability concerns, and value engineering opportunities
- Coordinate with vendors and subcontractors to obtain competitive pricing and evaluate proposals
- Support bid preparation, proposal development, and scope clarification efforts
- Maintain organized estimating files, bid documentation, and historical pricing data
- Participate in project turnover meetings with operations and project management teams
- Communicate effectively with internal stakeholders regarding project risks, timelines, and pricing considerations
- Assist with change order pricing and other preconstruction support activities as needed
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or related field preferred
- 2 years of plumbing estimating and/or field construction experience
- Experience within multifamily, hospitality, mixed-use, or large residential construction environments preferred
- Strong understanding of plumbing systems and construction documents
- Ability to read and interpret plans, specifications, and project schedules
- Strong communication, organization, and problem-solving skills
- Detail-oriented with the ability to manage multiple deadlines and priorities in a fast-paced environment
