What are the responsibilities and job description for the Machine Operator position at Summit Careers Inc?
Responsibilities of the Machine Operator:
- Build and repair tools, dies, fixtures, and components
- Set up and safely operate manual machining equipment including mills, lathes, grinders, drill presses, and band saws
- Perform preventative maintenance on toolroom equipment
- Read and interpret blueprints, design specifications, and part drawings
- Utilize measuring devices including micrometers, calipers, Go/No-go gauges, and indicators
- Assist Toolmakers with projects and tooling support as needed
Qualifications of the Machine Operator:
- Previous machining or toolroom experience required
- Experience operating manual machining equipment required
- Ability to read blueprints and technical drawings required
- Experience with surface grinders, lathes, mills, drill presses, die cast, injection molding machine, and band saws preferred
- Must be able to lift up to 25lbs regularly and up to 100lbs occasionally with assistance
