The Director-Compliance is responsible for directing and overseeing compliance activities for assigned SUD and Acute Psychiatric hospital This role serves as a liaison between corporate leadership and facility-level teams on matters involving regulatory risk and legal considerations, including Compliance, Legal, Risk, Security, Operations, Human Resources and Quality and Patient Safety.
Roles and Responsibilities:
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
- Serve as the organization’s primary point of contact for all assigned facilities for all regulatory compliance matters and will assist with HIPAA privacy and confidentiality matters, including 42 CFR Part 2, and applicable state privacy laws.
- Provide real-time guidance and support to staff and leadership on all compliance matters as may be assigned by the Chief Compliance Officer.
- Lead investigations into alleged violations of rules, regulations, policies, and Codes of Conduct by evaluating and recommending investigations as appropriate. Coordinate resolution of ethics reports with the Chief Compliance Officer.
- Ensure timely and appropriate mitigation steps, documentation and required actions for compliance involving all compliance-related incidents.
- Coordinates activities between Company’s Risk department, insurance providers and facilities in anticipation of litigation associated with incidents.
- Oversee implementation of policies, procedures, and practices as its related activities to maintain ethical and conduct standards.
- Assist with the creation and implementation of policies and procedures related to compliance.
- Ensure proper facility reporting of violations or potential violations to duly authorized enforcement agencies as appropriate and/or required.
- Ensure Corrective Action Plans are implemented.
- Bachelor’s Degree required. Masters preferred.
- Seven or more years of experience in healthcare quality, healthcare privacy, corporate compliance, and/or clinical leadership.
- Experience within behavioral health, addiction treatment, or substance use disorder settings is preferred.
- Deep understanding of legal and regulatory requirements and accreditation standards and patient privacy including HIPAA and 42 CFR Part 2 and incident reporting.
- Exceptional communication, facilitation, collaboration, and influencing skills with diverse stakeholders.
- Exercise sound judgment in responding to inquiries; understands when to escalate inquiries to the next level.
- Self-motivated with strong organizational skills and superior attention to detail.
- Must be able to manage multiple tasks/projects simultaneously within inflexible time frames. Ability to adapt to frequent priority changes.
- Capable of working within established policies, procedures and practices prescribed by the organization.
