Asphalt Leadman

Job Summary

Summers-Taylor is seeking an Asphalt Leadman to join our team. The Asphalt Leadman plays a crucial role as you will be the Foreman’s right hand. The ideal candidate will possess a strong understanding of asphalt operations, paving techniques, and safety protocols, with a proven track record of successfully completing projects on time. As a leadman, you will be required to work in different areas within the asphalt crew (shovel man, rake man, operator). In the event the foreman is away from the job, you will act as the foreman to ensure the job operates as if the foreman is on site.

Job Duties

• Work under the leadership of the foreman and complete tasks as assigned.
• Assist other crew members with job duties.
• Run equipment when asked: shovel, rake, roller, paver, etc.
• When required, supervise and lead a team of asphalt paving workers, ensuring high-quality workmanship.

Job Requirements

• Proven experience as an Asphalt Leadman or in a similar role in the construction industry.
• Strong knowledge of asphalt paving techniques and equipment.
• Excellent leadership and team management skills.
• Knowledge of safety hazards on and around the job.
• Ability to meet physical demands of the job.
• Must be able to work weekends and night shift when required.
• Must have a valid Driver’s License.
• Must pass drug screen and physical.
• Must comply with criminal background check.
