Role Description & Schedule
Summer Springboard is recruiting an innovative and dynamic individual to deliver a hands-on course in Environmental Engineering for our pre-college summer program for high school students. You will deliver the course for three 2-week sessions from 9am-12pm for a total of 9 days per session, plus two afternoons of academic excursions (around 30 hours). The course will be hosted in a classroom on the UCSD campus between June 28, 2026 and August 7, 2026 (3 sessions/groups of students).
You will be responsible for delivering engaging course material, mentoring students, and facilitating hands-on projects. Day-to-day tasks include preparing lesson plans, presenting key material, guiding students through practical applications, evaluating student progress, and providing feedback.
Qualifications
- Experience and expertise in Environmental Engineering
- Experience in curriculum development
- Strong communication, teaching, and presentation skills
- Ability to mentor and inspire high school students
- Familiarity with current environmental engineering technologies and practices
- Master's degree or higher in Environmental Engineering, or related field is preferred
- Previous teaching or training experience
