Role Description & Schedule
Summer Springboard is recruiting an innovative and dynamic individual to deliver a hands-on course in Blue Technology for our pre-college summer program for high school students. You will deliver the course for one 2-week session from 9am-12pm for a total of 9 days per session, plus two afternoons of academic excursions (around 30 hours). The course will be hosted in a classroom on the UCSD campus between July 13, 2026 and July 23, 2026.
You will be responsible for delivering engaging course material, mentoring students, and facilitating hands-on projects. Day-to-day tasks include preparing lesson plans, presenting key material, guiding students through practical applications, evaluating student progress, and providing feedback.
Qualifications
- Subject-matter expertise in Blue Technology or a related field (marine science, ocean engineering, environmental science, marine robotics, coastal sustainability, etc.)
- Experience teaching, mentoring, or working with high school–aged students.
- Strong ability to deliver hands-on, project-based learning.
- Excellent communication and facilitation skills.
- Highly organized and dependable.
- Experience with curriculum development.
