WSSD Summer Panthers Program Instructional Support Positions
The Summer Panthers Program is designed for students, ages 5-22, with complex needs. The program has been designed to include both academic instruction, community based instruction, related services and recreational/socialization activities. The program runs 6 hours per day, four days a week for five consecutive weeks.
Positions Available:
- Multiple Instructional Support positions, including teacher assistants and personal care assistants
Responsibilities:
- Assist teacher with classroom instruction and duties; work with individual students and small groups of students under the direction and supervision of the classroom teacher
Qualifications:
- Flexibility to assist within the Summer Panthers and Extended Day Program, as needed and assigned
- Ability to relate and communicate effectively with students, colleagues, and parents
- Knowledge and/or experience working with special needs students
- Wallingford-Swarthmore School District employee preferred
- Must be able to commit to all scheduled days
Schedule:
- June 22 through July 23, 2026 (5 weeks) Monday through Thursday
- Up to 6 hours (Elementary 8:30 a.m. – 2:00 p.m.) (Secondary 8:00-2PM per day); as determined by supervisor
- Note: There will be one mandatory orientation meeting prior to the start of the program, in person on June 16, 2026.
Salary: To be determined in accordance with the WSESPA Bargaining Unit Agreement.
