PD Day: June 15, 2026
Student Days (22): June 16-July 22, 2026 (Monday-Thursday)
*Exceptions may be made to accommodate swimming lessons
Position Overview:
Summer Learning Program is seeking energetic, passionate, and creative teachers to lead fun, hands-on and engaging learning activities for Kindergarten through Seventh Grade participants.
Responsibilities:
- Lead activities and supervise student groups
- Facilitate educational, athletic, and recreational programming
- Ensure safety and positive behavior among students
- Set up and clean up activity areas
- Differentiate for various grade and skill levels
- Work collaboratively with fellow staff
- Remain engaged and active for the full program duration
Qualifications:

Experience working with children in an educational or recreational setting

Ability to manage large groups with confidence and care

Comfort working outdoors in various weather conditions

Strong communication and organizational skills
Physical Requirements:

Must be able and willing to stand, walk, and remain physically active outdoors for extended periods
- Ability to lift and carry program materials as needed
Summer Learning Program selection Criteria:
- Valid Teaching Certificate required. (Note to teachers with certificates expiring 06/30/2026, renewed certficate must be issued prior to the beginning of summer program.)
- Commitment to working all Summer Program dates.
- K-2 Hiring
- Current instructional staff within the corresponding grade level band shall receive first consideration for these positions, regardless of their regular school year building assignment. These vacancies shall be considered in-building for all elementary staff and follow voluntary transfer language.
- If not enough applicants meet the above criteria then hiring moves to the current instructional staff within the 3-5 grade band.
- If not enough applicants meet the above criteria then district transfer language applies.
- 3-5 Hiring
- Current instructional staff within the corresponding grade level band shall receive first consideration for these positions, regardless of their regular school year building assignment. These vacancies shall be considered in-building for all elementary staff and follow voluntary transfer language.
- If not enough applicants meet the above criteria then hiring moves to the Current instructional staff within the K-2 grade band.
- If not enough applicants meet the above criteria then district transfer language applies.
- Academic interventionists and Instructional Coaches fall into the grade band closest to the last classroom position they held.
- If specialist positions (music, art, pe, library, etc) are part of the summer school programming, they will be posted separately. These vacancies shall be considered in-building for all current specialists and follow voluntary transfer language.
- 6-8 Current instructional staff within the corresponding grade band shall receive first consideration for these positions, regardless of their regular school year building assignment. These vacancies shall be considered in-building for all middle school staff and follow voluntary transfer language.
