Summary: Prepares and applies paint, varnishes and other coatings to a variety of products.
Essential Functions
- Manage material movement through the department which aligns with the most immediate needs of internal customers to meet On-Time-Delivery (OTD) performance metrics.
- Operate overhead and manual floor lifting equipment to maneuver, load, and unload items onto and off of the paint line that exceed 50lbs.
- Utilize pre-coating agents, mix and match colors and textures according to specifications, and fill or level materials as required.
- Follow compound specifications for mixing of paints and painting techniques.
- Apply paint and any additional finishes according to sales order and work instructions.
- Read and interpret drawings, technical specifications and material data sheets.
- Maintain accurate and complete records as required.
- Perform quality inspections as described in quality plans and work instructions.
- Follow quality procedures according to ISO 9001.
- Commitment to following all work instructions, policies, and posted signs or instructions regarding safety, including but not limited to, proper use of required PPE at all times.
- Understand individual "right and duty to intervene". In the event of an evident safety concern, take action in a positive manner to assist a fellow team member or take action to correct an unsafe situation and prevent a potential accident.
