As a Senior Attorney in the transactional real estate section, you will serve as a leader in your practice group, develop relationships and generate substantial business for the firm, manage complex legal matters, lead high-value client relationships, and ensure exceptional collaboration and legal delivery across core practice areas. You will guide matters from intake through resolution, mentor developing attorneys, and help advance the firm’s commitment to positive legal outcomes, excellence, responsiveness, and strategic growth.

This role also plays an important leadership function internally. You will collaborate closely with the Managing Partner and firm leadership, support firm initiatives related to staff utilization and business development, and help reinforce Sullivan Law Offices’ standards for legal execution and client experience.

Key Responsibilities

Client Leadership and Legal Execution

• Manage complex legal matters from intake through resolution

• Serve as primary attorney for strategic client relationships

• Conduct client consultations and provide strategic legal guidance aligned with client goals

• Oversee drafting, negotiation, strategy, and transactional execution based on the practice group

• Ensure matters progress efficiently while maintaining impeccable attention to detail

• Translate complex legal concepts into clear, actionable guidance for clients

Practice Leadership, Matter Oversight, and Docket Management

• Maintain ownership of case strategy, timelines, and deliverables

• Identify legal risks or opportunities and proactively address or escalate them

• Support continuous improvement of templates, workflows, and legal processes

• Coordinate closely with Client Services, Intake, and Billing teams to ensure smooth matter progression

• Contribute to firm-wide initiatives designed to improve staff utilization, billable time, and collections

Team Leadership and Mentorship

• Mentor Senior Associate Attorneys and Associate Attorneys through coaching, shadowing, scorecard management, and feedback

• Support the development of younger attorneys through training and case review

• Provide subject-matter leadership within commercial real estate

• Reinforce firm culture aligned with servant leadership, teamwork, aggressive continuous improvement

Business Development and Growth

• Participate in client development and referral relationship cultivation

• Identify opportunities for cross-practice collaboration and expansion

• Support firm visibility through speaking, writing, and professional engagement when appropriate

• Contribute to the growth of a developing book of business aligned with firm strategy, as well as coordination with the marketing coordinator to drive business development

• Work firm leadership to improve business development strategy and execution

Operational Excellence and Compliance

• Maintain accurate and timely time entries, billing documentation, and matter records

• Support firm policies related to ethical standards, compliance, and professional responsibility

• Work collaboratively with billing and operations teams to maintain strong realization and collections performance

• Ensure legal work aligns with firm quality standards and risk management protocols, as well as docket maintenance

Required Qualifications

• Juris Doctor and active Texas Bar license in good standing

• 10 years of legal practice experience

• Demonstrated ability to manage complex legal matters independently

• Strong transactional and advisory legal experience

• Board Certified or actively pursuing advanced specialization preferred

• Exceptional written and verbal communication skills

• High integrity and professionalism with confidential client matters

• Demonstrated ability to build client relationships, network, and generate your own billable matters

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience mentoring junior attorneys or leading case teams

• Experience working within structured workflows or legal operations systems

• Familiarity with CRM, case management, or billing platforms used in legal environments

• Experience collaborating with external professionals, including CPAs, consultants, or advisors

• Portable client base from which to build
