Job Title: Equipment / Loader Operator
Overview: Suit-Kote Corporation is accepting applications for an experienced loader operator in Polkville, NY, able to operate at a very fast pace feeding raw materials into cold feed bins.
Safety Expectations: All Suit-Kote employees are required to comply with all safety rules and to observe safe work practices and operating procedures at all times. Whenever on Suit-Kote property or job sites, or operating Suit- Kote equipment, employees are expected to conduct themselves in a manner that promotes the safety of the employee, co-workers and others.
Responsibilities/Job Duties:
- Operate the Loader and other heavy equipment in a safe and appropriate manner.
- Perform daily and routine cleaning and maintenance as well as safety checks of equipment.
- Understand and follow directions from supervisors as to required work area.
- Operate Loader controls to lower and tilt bucket and drive forward to force bucket into bulk material; Move lever to raise and tilt bucket when filled, or to dump material.
- Load customer trucks and trailers with aggregates
- Operate Loader on public or private roadways, maintaining proper awareness of ones surroundings.
- Communicate with the scale house and quarry personnel for the needs of customers and the quarry
- Manage stockpiles
- Operate other heavy equipment and other construction related duties as required.
Required Skills/Abilities:
- OSHA 10 Hour Safety Certificate, or willingness to obtain one.
- Passing a pre-employment drug and alcohol screening is required and a background check will be conducted
- Punctuality is extremely important
- High school diploma or GED is preferred
- Reliable transportation to and from work site
- Must be unafraid of heights
- Must be able to lift 50 pounds
- Strong work ethic
- Must have a clean motor-vehicle record
Physical Requirements:
- Must be able to lift 50 pounds
- Observe and comply with necessary PPE requirements
- Must be able to work in a noisy area with many odors present
- Bending, stretching, stooping, kneeling, crawling and squatting
Other Preferred Qualities:
- Ability to read and understand SDS
- Hazmat endorsement a plus
- Basic computer skills (Microsoft Office)
Salary Rate: $20.00-$24.00/hour
