Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and energetic Registered Nurse (RN) specializing in Medical Surgical Telemetry (MS/Tele) to join our dynamic healthcare team. Duties
- Deliver high-quality nursing care to adult patients in a medical-surgical telemetry setting, monitoring vital signs, administering medications, and managing complex care plans.
- Utilize advanced EMR (Electronic Medical Records) and EHR (Electronic Health Records) systems such as Epic and Cerner to document patient assessments, interventions, and progress accurately.
- Conduct thorough patient assessments including physical examinations, vital signs, and physiological evaluations to inform treatment strategies.
- Manage cardiac telemetry equipment for continuous heart rhythm monitoring and respond promptly to abnormal findings.
- Administer medications via IV infusion, injections, or other routes while adhering to aseptic techniques and safety protocols.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams including physicians, specialists in cardiology and critical care, and case managers to coordinate comprehensive patient care.
- Assist with diagnostic evaluations such as laboratory specimen collection, imaging procedures like sonography or mammography, and diagnostic coding including ICD-10/ICD-9 for accurate documentation.
- Provide patient education on medication administration, discharge planning, pain management strategies, and health coaching tailored to individual needs.
- Support patients with complex conditions such as trauma medicine cases at Level I Trauma Centers or ICU patients requiring ventilator management or ostomy care.
- Ensure compliance with HIPAA regulations and maintain meticulous medical records while delivering compassionate care across diverse settings including hospital medicine, outpatient clinics, or home & community care environments.
Requirements
- Valid RN license with current registration in the state of practice.
- Proven experience in medical-surgical units with telemetry monitoring; ICU or Level I Trauma Center experience is highly desirable.
- Strong knowledge of physiology, anatomy, critical care procedures including airway management, ventilator support, and aseptic techniques.
- Proficiency in EMR/EHR systems such as Epic or Cerner; familiarity with Athenahealth is a plus.
- Experience working with individuals with disabilities or developmental delays; knowledge of behavioral health or dementia care is advantageous.
- Skilled in IV insertion, phlebotomy, medication administration including botulinum toxin treatments when applicable, and specimen processing.
- Ability to perform complex patient assessments involving trauma medicine protocols or post-operative recovery procedures like suturing or gastric lavage.
- Excellent communication skills for triage situations in urgent care or emergency room settings; capable of handling acute pain management cases effectively.
- Knowledge of Workers' Compensation law related to occupational health cases; experience in hospice & palliative medicine or geriatrics preferred.
- Certifications such as Basic Life Support (BLS), Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS), Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP), or specialized trauma certifications are highly valued.

Pay: $2,100.00 - $2,200.00 per week
