As a Scrap Tire Technician, you will be responsible for breaking down tires and rims sent for scrap from different locations.

Scrap Tire Technician Responsibilities include:

• Break down tires from the rim.
• Move pallets, baskets, and boxes while operating a forklift.
• Operate a forklift and conduct daily inspections.
• Lift and stack tires in a trailer for transportation.
• Adhere to Suburban Automotive Service’s DRIVEN values and align business practices to support the SAS mission and vision.

Scrap Tire Technician Qualification and Skills:

• Must have a valid driver’s license and a clean driving record.
• Must be at least 21 years of age to drive company vehicles at Milford Proving Grounds.
• Must be forklift certified or willing to acquire certification.
• Must have exceptional communication skills.
• Must be a self-starter and be able to work independently.
• Must be a reliable team player.
• Basic mechanical knowledge is a plus.

Scrap Tire Technician Working Conditions and Physical Demands include:

• Exposure to fumes from forklifts.
• Exposure to grease, oil, and electrical components.
• This position is performed both inside a garage and outside, so weather conditions may include extreme heat and cold.
• This position is continually active and requires standing, walking, bending, twisting, kneeling, stooping, and crouching all day.
• Must frequently lift and/or move items up to 40 lbs.
• Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
