What are the responsibilities and job description for the Special Education Support Staff position at Substitute Teacher Service?
STS is now hiring Special Education Support Staff (Paras & PCAs) to work in Penn Manor School District for the upcoming 25-26 school year.
Our ideal candidates are highly-qualified and can take direction from the teacher or faculty leader to assist and support their student(s) in all capacities of educational, behavioral, and emotional benefits in a professional manner with respect for confidentiality.
Schedule: Monday through Friday following the student calendar
Employment Term: 10 months **This position is not eligible for benefits**
Essential Functions:
- Ensuring student’s safety within school building and surrounding areas
- Support student’s academic, social, adaptive, motor, communication, emotional, and behavioral needs
- Escort student to and from bus, classes, nurse, therapies, etc. (when applicable)
- Provide prompts across settings
- Utilize behavioral system (i.e. token economy)
- Supervise and monitor inclusive activities throughout the school day
- Transition student between activities
Required Background and Health Documents:
- Pennsylvania Criminal Records check (Act 34) must be within 1 year
- Pennsylvania Child Abuse Clearance History (Act 151) must be within 1 year
- FBI Criminal History Record (Act 114) must be within 1 year
- Proof of a TB test within 3 months
- additional documents required during on-boarding
Hours (may vary by role)
Secondary ~ 7:30am-2:30pm
Elementary ~ 9:00am-3:30pm
Job Type: Part-time
