Emotional Support PCA

STS is hiring an Emotional Support PCA for the 2026–2027 school year at Paradise Elementary School within the Pequea Valley School District.

Position Details

Schedule: Monday–Friday, 8:30 AM–4:00 PM

Pay: $16.50–$17.50 per hour

Location: Paradise Elementary School

Position Responsibilities

• The Emotional Support PCA will provide individualized support to a student in an elementary school setting. Responsibilities include:
• Providing emotional, behavioral, and educational support throughout the school day
• Assisting the student with transitions between classrooms, activities, and other school settings
• Providing transition support with materials, including helping the student organize, carry, and manage necessary school materials
• Monitoring the student throughout the school day to promote safety, engagement, and successful participation
• Supporting classroom routines and helping the student remain engaged in assigned activities
• Following the direction of classroom staff and school personnel
• Communicating observations and concerns appropriately with the educational team
• Encouraging positive behaviors, independence, and successful social interactions
• Maintaining a professional, supportive, and patient approach at all times

Qualifications

• Experience working with children or individuals who require emotional, behavioral, or educational support is preferred
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills
• Dependable, patient, and able to work effectively as part of a school-based team
• Ability to follow individualized support plans and school procedures
• Ability to assist with transitions, materials, and ongoing student monitoring
