Substitute Teacher Service (STS) is now hiring an Elementary Personal Care Assistant to support 1/1 with a student in an offsite program located at Neff Elementary School in Manheim Township.
We are seeking a dependable and compassionate individual to provide individualized support to students in an elementary school setting. This position plays an important role in helping their student maintain a safe, supportive, and successful learning environment. Applicant must be fluent in ASL.
Pay: $18.00 per hour
Hours: 8:30 AM – 3:45 PM - Monday - Friday following the student calendar.

Position Overview
The Elementary Personal Care Assistant (PCA) provides direct support to students throughout the school day. The PCA works closely with classroom staff to assist with student needs, encourage independence, support communication, and help students participate successfully in classroom activities.
Responsibilities
- Provide individualized support to students in an elementary school environment.
- Assist students with daily routines, classroom activities, and transitions as needed.
- Support student safety, independence, and participation throughout the school day.
- Assist with personal care needs as required.
- Support classroom instruction and student engagement under the direction of school staff.
- Monitor and assist students during classroom activities and learning tasks.
- Provide positive behavioral support and redirection when needed.
- Maintain confidentiality and demonstrate professionalism when working with students and staff.
- Participate in emergency drills and follow school safety procedures.
- Utilize classroom technology and educational equipment as needed.
- Collaborate with teachers and school personnel to support student success.
Qualifications & Required Documents
- Fluent in American Sign Language (ASL) required.
- Current CPR and First Aid Certification required.
- Experience working with children, students with disabilities, or in a school/healthcare support setting preferred.
- Ability to provide compassionate and dependable support to students with diverse needs.
- Strong communication, patience, and teamwork skills.
Required documents:
- Pennsylvania Criminal Record Check (Act 34)
- Pennsylvania Child Abuse Clearance History (Act 151)
- FBI Criminal History Record (Act 114)
- Proof of a TB test or chest X-ray completed within the past 3 months
- Proof of a high school diploma or higher education (copy of diploma or transcripts accepted)
Additional required STS employment documents will be provided during the onboarding process.
