Job Summary
We are seeking an energetic and adaptable District Substitutes to step into classrooms across multiple schools within our partner district. In this vital role, you will serve as a flexible, dependable presence in various educational settings, delivering instruction and maintaining a positive learning environment. Your enthusiasm and professionalism will help keep students engaged and supported, ensuring their educational experience remains uninterrupted.
Duties
- Cover classrooms in the absence of full-time teachers, following lesson plans or developing your own engaging activities aligned with curriculum standards
- Implement curriculum development strategies and adapt lesson plans to meet diverse student needs
- Manage classroom behavior effectively through positive behavior management techniques and classroom management skills
- Foster a safe, inclusive environment that supports childhood development and encourages student participation
- Communicate regularly with school staff, teachers, parents, and administrators regarding student progress and classroom needs
- Utilize educational technologies and computers to enhance instruction and student engagement
- Follow mandated reporting laws, school policies, and procedures to ensure compliance and safety
Experience
- Prior experience working with children in educational or childcare settings, including preschool or early childhood education
- Experience implementing curriculum development, lesson planning, and curriculum adaptation for diverse learners
- Familiarity with classroom management techniques, behavior management strategies, and working with students from diverse cultural backgrounds
- Knowledge of special education practices, including working with students with autism or other learning differences
- Proven ability to collaborate effectively with teachers and school staff in a team-oriented environment
- Experience using educational technologies and computers for instructional purposes
- Strong communication skills for parent-teacher interactions and reporting responsibilities
