The Manufacturing Production Assembly Technician is responsible for assembling, testing, and inspecting products in accordance with established safety, quality, and production standards. This position works closely with Manufacturing Engineering, Supervisors, and team members to ensure products are manufactured efficiently, accurately, and on schedule while supporting continuous improvement initiatives throughout the production process. Normal production hours are 7am-3:30pm M-F, with occasional necessary overtime and or weekend hours, depending on business needs.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Follow all company safety policies and quality procedures at all times.
  • Identify, report, and help mitigate workplace hazards to support a safe work environment.
  • Assemble components, sub-assemblies, and finished products according to Operator Work Instructions and engineering specifications.
  • Operate production assembly equipment and test systems safely and effectively.
  • Perform functional testing and inspections to verify product quality and compliance with specifications.
  • Complete required shop floor documentation and production records accurately and timely.
  • Work with Manufacturing Engineers to troubleshoot assembly and process-related issues.
  • Participate in continuous improvement and problem-solving activities to improve safety, quality, and productivity.
  • Cross-train in multiple manufacturing and assembly operations to support production needs.
  • Provide training and guidance to new and existing employees as required.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and efficient work area.
  • Communicate effectively with supervisors, engineers, and team members regarding production status, quality concerns, and process improvements.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications: Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

  • Strong ability to work effectively in a team-oriented manufacturing environment.
  • Ability to read, understand, and follow work instructions and standard operating procedures.
  • Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, mechanical drawings, wiring diagrams, and basic electrical schematics.
  • Experience using hand tools, power tools, and basic measuring equipment.
  • Ability to use a Volt-Ohm Meter (VOM) for troubleshooting AC and DC circuits.
  • Understanding of manufacturing processes and systematic problem-solving techniques.
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to producing high-quality work.
  • Ability to adapt to changing production priorities and work in a fast-paced environment.
  • Willingness to work overtime as needed to meet business demands.

Education and Experience

  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Previous manufacturing, assembly, production, or electromechanical assembly experience preferred.
  • Experience working with electrical, mechanical, or industrial equipment is a plus.

Physical Requirements

  • Ability to regularly lift, carry, and move up to 50 pounds.
  • Ability to stand for extended periods throughout the workday.
  • Frequent reaching, bending, twisting, and manual dexterity required.
  • Ability to perform detailed hand-focused assembly tasks.
  • Ability to safely operate production equipment and tools.

Work Environment

  • Manufacturing/production facility environment.
  • Exposure to machinery, tools, and production equipment.
  • Required use of personal protective equipment (PPE) as designated by company policy.
