Overview:
Our Product Development team is responsible for translating creative vision into high-quality, scalable, and commercially successful home products. We are seeking a highly organized, execution-driven Product Development Associate with strong textile knowledge and hands-on experience managing soft goods development from concept through production.
This role is ideal for someone who understands fabrics, a variety of fabrication and construction techniques, and finishes, and who excels at managing timelines, vendors, specifications, and approvals. Rather than focusing on designing products, this role ensures that products are developed accurately, efficiently, and to our quality and brand standards.
You will serve as a key operational partner to our designers, sourcing team, and vendors, owning the day-to-day management of textile development.

Key Responsibilities:
Product Development & Program Management
- Own and manage the end-to-end development process for assigned textile and soft goods categories
- Provide print and pattern support to the hardgoods category when needed
- Build and maintain detailed development calendars, trackers, and milestone schedules that align with the milestone dates of the seasonal development calendar
- Drive projects forward by proactively managing deadlines, dependencies, and approvals
- Coordinate cross-functional handoffs between Design, Sourcing, Merchandising, QA, and Operations
- Identify risks, delays, or quality issues early and escalate with solutions
Textile & Material Oversight
- Evaluate fabrics for construction, durability, hand-feel, and performance
- Review lab dips, strike-offs, handlooms, and production samples for accuracy to approved standards
- Validate that patterns, colors, finishes, and constructions meet specifications
- Partner with sourcing to identify and qualify mills and vendors
- Support fabric testing, compliance, and performance requirements
Vendor & Production Management
- Manage day-to-day communication with domestic and international vendors
- Issue and track specifications, tech packs, and development requests
- Ensure vendors understand quality, cost, and timeline expectations
- Review TOP samples and pre-production samples for consistency and accuracy
- Resolve production issues in partnership with sourcing and QA
Systems, Documentation & Reporting
- Maintain accurate product data in internal systems
- Manage SKUs, BOMs, specs, and cost files
- Track samples, approvals, and revisions
- Prepare status reports and development summaries for leadership
Sample & Warehouse Coordination
- Oversee physical samples housed at the Draper Visual Warehouse
- Coordinate sample intake, storage, and distribution
- Ensure samples are available for reviews, shoots, and launches
- Partner with Visual Styling and Creative teams on sample needs
What You'll Bring:
- 3–5 years of experience in textile product development, working in a cross-functional environment
,and soft goods manufacturing - Hands-on experience managing development for bedding, bath, rugs, pillows, or similar categories
- Strong working knowledge of fibers, weaves, constructions, and finishes
- Ability to distinguish and evaluate fabric quality, patterns, and color accuracy
- Experience managing complex timelines and SKU-heavy assortments
- Proven ability to drive execution and close open issues
- Highly organized, detail-oriented, and process-driven
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Comfortable working in Excel and Google Workspace
- Confident working with overseas vendors and factories
- Problem-solver with strong follow-through
Work Environment & Location:
This role is based at our Draper, Utah Visual Warehouse and Headquarters. Due to the hands-on nature of managing physical samples and collaborating cross-functionally, this position requires regular in-person presence. Candidates must be located in Utah or willing to relocate.
