What are the responsibilities and job description for the Graphic Designer position at Studio McGee?
Role: Graphic Designer
Level: 3-5 years of experience
Team: Brand Creative, Marketing
Reports To: Design Manager
Location: Fully Remote or Hybrid on-site at the Studio McGee | Mcgee & Co. HQ in Draper, UT
Employment Type: Full-Time
Overview:
We are hiring a Graphic Designer to work across both brands under Studio McGee Inc. You will bring our visual identity to life across digital, print, campaigns, and production — collaborating with our brand, marketing, e-commerce, retail and paid media teams to ship work that feels unmistakably Studio McGee.
This is a hands-on role for a designer who is equally comfortable laying out a catalog spread, designing an email, mocking up a homepage banner, and prepping a final asset for press. You move quickly, hold a high bar for craft, and care about the details no one else notices.
Who We are:
Founded in 2014, Studio McGee, Inc. is one of the fastest growing home design brands in America. Our journey began with a thriving interiors business that focused on approachable, yet aspirational design. By leveraging the power of digital communities, we were able to expand our footprint in the interior design industry through an unconventional approach that connected us with our consumers. We continued to carry that forward-thinking attitude into the launch of our retail business, McGee & Co., which anchors the operational and revenue growth of our company. Our licensing partnerships allow us to further expand our design voice beyond our own collection. From a multi-year partnership with Target to an Emmy-nominated Netflix Series and a NY Times Best-Selling book, Studio McGee's passion is to empower people to design with an approachability that enhances their daily life and elevates their every day. Whether following us on social media or becoming part of our company, we invite you to join us on our mission to “Make Life Beautiful.”
What You'll Do:
- Design email campaigns end-to-end for McGee & Co. and Studio McGee — product launches, sales, editorial sends, and lifecycle moments.
- Create organic social, story templates, and paid ad units that translate brand voice into work that holds attention.
- Support Digital Designer with web banners, landing pages, and homepage modules alongside the e-commerce team, balancing brand polish with conversion.
- Explore art direction for seasonal campaigns through comprehensive studio and location shot lists as well as mood boards.
- Lay out catalog spreads, lookbooks, and print collateral with a refined typographic sensibility and an obsessive attention to grids, margins, and image pacing. Support packaging, swing tags, inserts, and unboxing moments that carry the brand into customers' homes. Prep press-ready files, manage proofs, and own color and quality from concept through delivery.
- Concept and design seasonal campaigns alongside the creative team, contributing in early ideation and translating ideas into polished cross-channel toolkits. Partner with copy, photo, video, and merchandising to keep every campaign cohesive across channels.
- Build and maintain templates, master files, and components the broader team can use confidently. Own file organization, version control, and naming conventions inside our cloud and DAM environments. Resize, adapt, and version assets across formats, channels, and brands without losing the integrity of the original design.
- Work with the design team to shape and extend our brand systems — typography, color, layout, photo direction — across new and existing touchpoints.
- Stay up to date on the latest graphic design trends and AI software. Stay immersed in the world of design by constantly seeking what is new, and always in tune with our competitors, technology, fashion, social media, and beyond.
What You'll Bring:
- Three to five years of professional graphic design experience, ideally with both print and digital exposure — in-house brand or agency.
- A body of work that demonstrates strong typography, layout, hierarchy, and a refined editorial sensibility. Lifestyle, home, fashion, or hospitality work is a plus.
- Fluency in Adobe Creative Suite (InDesign, Photoshop, Illustrator), Figma and Canva. Comfort with AI programs like (NanoBanana, ChatGPT and Claude CoWork). After Effects, or motion basics is a bonus.
- A working command of print production — color management, image prep, paper selection, bleeds, and pre-flight.
- Ability to run multiple projects in parallel, hit deadlines, and keep files organized in a fast-moving environment.
- Clear communication when presenting work, taking direction, and incorporating feedback.
- A collaborative, low-ego attitude alongside designers, copywriters, photographers, marketers, and merchandisers.
Benefits:
- Remote or hybrid opportunity
- Competitive compensation bonuses
- Comprehensive heath benefits (medical, dental, vision, hospital indemnity, accident, pet)
- Open PTO
- 401k Employer match - 100% of deferrals up to 4% of compensation
- Exclusive Team Member discount at mcgeeandco.com access to Team Member warehouse sales
- Opportunity to be a part of a vibrant, inclusive, and innovative team
