Studio C, parent company of Celebration Cinema, One Twenty Three Tavern, Studio Park Lofts & Tower, and Show Span, is in search of an experienced, full time, Assistant Controller to join our corporate office team!
The Assistant Controller plays a key role in supporting the organization’s financial operations and accounting processes. This position oversees daily accounting activities, ensures accurate financial reporting, maintains compliance with accounting standards and tax regulations, and supports process improvements across the finance department. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, collaborative, and experienced in managing multiple accounting functions in a fast-paced environment.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES and RESPONSIBILITIES:

ESSENTIAL DUTIES and RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Oversee daily accounting operations including GL, inventory, fixed assets, sales tax, and cash management.
- Review journal entries, reconciliations, and month-end close activities.
- Ensure accuracy of financial records and compliance with company policies and GAAP.
- Support budgeting, forecasting, and financial reporting processes.
- Maintain internal controls and identify process improvement opportunities.
- Assist with audits, tax reporting, and regulatory compliance.
- Supervise and support accounting staff development and performance.
- Partner with operations and leadership on financial analysis and special projects.
- Coordinate financial reporting & payments with movie studios and distributors
- 3-5 years of accounting and leadership experience
- Proficient with Microsoft Office applications (especially Excel)
- Experience with Sage Intacct accounting software preferred
- Detail-oriented and organized
- Effective use of both verbal and written communication
- Excellent customer service skills and the ability to foster great relationships
- Self-starter; self-motivated; takes initiative
- Experience participating in financial audits or reviews is preferred, whether from the client side or as an auditor, but is not required
- Interact with a wide variety of personnel within the organization
