The supervisor provides leadership to the support team, ensures consistent standards, and helps optimize revenue through effective sales and parts management.
Essential Duties And Responsibilities
- Oversee the quoting process for residential and commercial garage door services, repairs, and new installs.
- Ensure customer inquiries are handled promptly, professionally, and with a strong customer focused approach.
- Review and approve estimates, ensuring accuracy in pricing, parts, and labor.
- Support sales reps and technicians with product information, pricing, and availability.
- Manage the parts support team responsible for sourcing, ordering, stocking, and distributing parts.
- Maintain accurate inventory levels of springs, rollers, operators, hardware, remotes, and other high turn items.
- Coordinate with vendors to ensure timely delivery and cost-efficient purchasing.
- Monitor inventory variances, perform cycle counts, and support annual physical inventory.
- Oversee parts staging for daily service and install jobs.
- Train new team members on systems, processes, product knowledge, and company standards.
- Foster a positive, efficient team environment that supports operations and field teams.
- Partner with the service team members and to support scheduling, parts readiness, and workflow efficiency.
- Identify process bottlenecks and recommend improvements to enhance service turnaround time and sales accuracy.
- Ensure consistent documentation and use of the company’s CRM/field management system (e.g., Service Titan).
- Assist in resolving escalated customer issues related to parts, quotes, or service recommendations.
- Review invoices for accuracy of labor, materials and pricing.
- Maintain and update list of dealer contact information.
- Order parts, materials, tools as needed for stock and jobs.
- Develop and maintain applicable reporting to jobs, inventory etc.
- Follow-up and provide service quotes to customers as needed
- Directly supervise the Warehouse Lead and provide functional guidance to support staff
- Assign daily tasks, prioritize workloads, and monitor performance to ensure operational goals are met.
- Provide ongoing coaching, feedback, and performance support aligned with company standards.
- Participate in hiring, onboarding, and training of warehouse support positions, and sales support if applicable.
- Enforce company policies, procedures, and standards related to safety, inventory control, and customer service.
- Collaborate with management on staffing needs, performance issues and process improvements.
- Oversee and approve the Warehouse Lead’s timecard ensuring accuracy of hours worked.
- Monitor employee attendance, punctuality and overtime usage.
- Review and approve time off requests and coordinate time-off scheduling as needed to ensure adequate staffing levels to avoid service and operational disruptions.
- Partner with Human Resources and management as needed to address any timekeeping or other policy issues.
- Maintain confidentiality and accurate records as required.
- Ensure proper handling, storage, and labeling of all garage door components and materials.
- Maintain a clean, organized warehouse that is compliant with company safety policies and OSHA guidelines.
- Support company procedures related to warranty documentation and product returns.
Qualifications
Required
- 2–4 years of experience in sales support, parts coordination, or customer service (garage door, construction, HVAC, or trades industry preferred).
- Prior supervisory or lead experience preferred.
- Strong knowledge of garage door components, opener systems, and common repair parts (or ability to learn quickly).
- Excellent communication and customer service skills.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Proficiency with CRM/field service software (ServiceTitan experience strongly preferred).
- Ability to lift to 50 lbs. and move parts as needed.
- Experience in inventory management or warehouse oversight.
- Technical understanding of residential and commercial garage door systems.
- Ability to read manufacturer catalogs, spec sheets, and technical diagrams.
- Vendor management and purchasing experience.
