What are the responsibilities and job description for the STUDENT-Aural Skills Peer Tutor position at Student?
Job Duties:
Tutoring a wide range of students in aural skills, an average of 4-5 hours per week during Block 3 (Jan. 20 – March 13, 2026) of the 2025-6 academic year. Occasionally tutor music theory as needed.

Anticipated Work Schedule:
Other - Set hours in a static schedule; typically scheduled between 3-8pm, plus additional tutoring appointments by arrangement. During fall and spring semesters, including final exam periods.
Qualifications:
- Outstanding academic achievement as evidenced by GPA
- Outstanding achievement in aural skills and music theory courses, with grades of A or A- in each course taken
- Current enrollment in or past completion of Aural Skills IV and Music Theory III
- Formal or informal experience teaching/tutoring aural skills and music theory required
- Rising Junior preferred
- Excellent communication skills
- Personal qualities conducive to one-on-one conferences, such as a friendly, approachable manner; patience; good listening abilities; and a sense of maturity and responsibility
