Responsibilities and Duties:
- Manage awarded projects from pre-construction through close-out, ensuring delivery on time and within budget.
- Build and maintain strong external relationships with General Contractors, Project Owners, Subcontractors, Vendors, and trade partners.
- Collaborate with Project Engineers and Field Staff to support field operations, mentor team members, and foster internal alignment.
- Analyze estimates to develop project budgets and schedules of values.
- Facilitate procurement, including project buyouts, purchase orders, and subcontracts.
- Prepare and negotiate pay applications, change orders, and cost tracking documentation.
- Proactively identify and mitigate risks by reviewing plans/specifications, engaging in project scheduling, and anticipating production opportunities.
- Maximize cash flow through strategic scheduling and timely billing.
- Conduct regular site visits, coordinate with all stakeholders, and ensure compliance with project specifications and codes.
Qualifications & Skills Requirements:
- 5 years of experience in electrical or heavy civil construction project management, preferably in airfield lighting systems, roadway/traffic signal systems, or public works.
- Deep understanding of construction processes from design through close-out, including bid analysis, budgeting, and scope writing.
- Strong understanding of construction drawings, electrical schematics, and applicable codes (NEC, FAA, CALTRANS, etc.).
- Skilled in underground utility work for PG&E, SMUD, Caltrans, and other agencies
- Familiar with codebooks such as PG&E Greenbook, Caltrans, NEC, etc.
- Detail-oriented with excellent organizational and time management skills.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills—both verbal and written.
- Comfortable managing multiple priorities and deadlines independently and within a team setting.
- Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook), Bluebeam, Fieldwire, and Foundation or similar Accounting Software.
- Valid driver’s license with ability to travel to job sites.
