About The Role
The Tool Management Specialist is responsible for maintaining, issuing, and tracking all tools and equipment stored in the tool crib. The Tool Management Specialist plays a vital role in minimizing downtime and keeping operations running smoothly.
Key Responsibilities
- ?Maintain accurate inventory of tools, supplies, and consumables within the tool crib
- ?Issue and track tools checked in/out by employees, ensuring accountability and proper usage
- ?Inspect tools for wear, damage, or calibration needs before reissuing
- ?Place purchase requests and orders for new tools, replacements, and consumables as required
- ?Monitor stock levels to ensure critical tools and supplies are readily available
- ?Maintain a clean, organized, and secure tool crib environment
- ?Support vendor relationships by coordinating orders, deliveries, and returns
- ?Provide basic user guidance on tool usage, handling, and storage
- ?Maintain accurate records and reports related to tool crib operations, inventory, and purchasing
- ?Support continuous improvement initiatives for inventory control and tool management systems
- ?Perform other related duties as assigned
- ?Strong organizational skills with attention to detail and accuracy
- ?Basic knowledge of hand tools, power tools, and manufacturing/maintenance equipment
- ?Experience using computer systems for inventory tracking and purchasing (ERP or similar preferred)
- ?Excellent communication and customer service skills to support production teams
- ?Ability to lift up to 50 lbs. and work in a manufacturing environment
- ?High school diploma or equivalent (technical or vocational training preferred)
- ?Previous experience in a tool crib, warehouse, inventory control, or similar environment
- ?May require working outside of a climate-controlled environment for extended periods
- ?Personal protective equipment (PPE) required on production floors
- ?Walking, sitting, standing, crouching, and lifting up to 50 lbs
