Position Overview
The Sr. Designer (Brakes) is responsible for delivering high-quality, manufacturable brake system designs that support both current and future vehicle programs. This role requires strong technical expertise and the ability to solve complex integration and routing challenges while maintaining performance, serviceability, and safety standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Design and optimize ProCable systems for brake and vehicle integration applications
- Develop and release brake line routing solutions within constrained multi-system packaging environments
- Design prebled brake assemblies, including interface definition, installation, and service considerations
- Solve complex packaging challenges while balancing performance, manufacturability, serviceability, and safety
- Support improvements in first-pass design quality to reduce rework and corrective iterations
- Collaborate cross-functionally with Manufacturing, Quality, Supply Chain, and Systems Engineering teams
- Extensive hands-on experience with ProCable design and brake routing
- Proven experience designing in highly constrained vehicle environments
- Strong understanding of manufacturing and quality impacts related to design decisions
- Ability to independently resolve complex integration and routing challenges
- Associate or Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Mechanical Design, or related technical discipline, or equivalent experience
