What are the responsibilities and job description for the Aircraft Mechanic position at STS Technical Services?
STS Technical Services is hiring experienced Aircraft Mechanics in Moline, Illinois. This is a hands-on role where you'll be responsible for inspecting, testing, adjusting, repairing, and maintaining airframe and engine systems to keep aircraft safe and airworthy.
Key Responsibilities- Perform inspections, servicing, and repairs of a complex nature on various aircraft systems and components
- Troubleshoot and function test using manufacturer's technical documents across multiple airframe, engine, and component systems
- Lead aircraft projects as directed by the Crew Chief and Supervisor
- Prepare and complete required maintenance and modification documentation in accordance with FAA Airworthiness Regulations, Elliott Aviation Policies and Processes, FAA Approved Repair Station and Quality Control Manuals, and OJT logs
- Locate and use appropriate technical data to accomplish tasks efficiently and correctly
- Support, maintain, and comply with all Federal, OSHA, State, and local regulations as well as Elliott Aviation's Environmental, Health, and Safety Policies and Processes
- Perform related duties as assigned
- Ability to attain and retain AOA badge or Airport requirements
- FAA Inspection Authorization (IA) preferred
- Must obtain and retain designation as an Elliott Aviation Production Inspector (Blue stamp)
- High school diploma or equivalent required
- Thorough knowledge of FARs 43, 65, 91, 135, and 145
- Aircraft maintenance experience preferred

- Ability to work on a team with both experienced technicians and mentor junior technicians
- Willingness to learn and take guidance from others
- Strong communication skills
- Organizational skills and attention to detail
- Ability to maintain a safe and clean work environment
- Mechanical aptitude and a strong desire to work
