What are the responsibilities and job description for the MAINTENANCE TECHNICIAN (2nd Shift) position at STS Metals?
STS Metals is a unified organization composed of five businesses working together to deliver high-quality titanium, stainless and alloy steel, and nickel products. We proudly serve the aerospace, medical, industrial, and space industries with a commitment to innovation, manufacturing excellence, and superior customer service.
As a Maintenance Technician at Sierra Alloys, you’ll be a key part of keeping our operation running safely and reliably. This role performs routine and advanced maintenance on production machinery, equipment, and facility systems to support strong performance and minimize downtime.
You’ll troubleshoot mechanical and electrical issues, respond to equipment breakdowns, and support preventive maintenance efforts that help avoid problems before they impact production. This is a full-time, non-exempt role on a stable second-shift schedule (1pm-11pm), with a shift differential in recognition of the hours and responsibility that come with the role.
Second-shift maintenance requires independence, strong troubleshooting skills, and the ability to think on your feet. You’ll be trusted to diagnose and resolve issues safely and efficiently, often with production depending on your response.
It’s worth it because this role comes with ownership and stability. You’ll have a consistent schedule, a shift differential, and the opportunity to build deep technical expertise. Technicians who perform well have clear pathways to more advanced maintenance roles, specialized equipment ownership, or leadership opportunities over time. Your work is valued, visible, and essential to the operation.
