STS Metals
IRWINDALE, CA Full Time
POSTED ON 5/19/2026
AVAILABLE BEFORE 7/19/2026

STS Metals is a unified organization composed of five businesses working together to deliver high-quality titanium, stainless and alloy steel, and nickel products. We proudly serve the aerospace, medical, industrial, and space industries with a commitment to innovation, manufacturing excellence, and superior customer service.

As the EHS Lead, you’ll be responsible for driving environmental, health, and safety performance across two manufacturing businesses in Irwindale and Santa Fe Springs. This is a hands-on leadership role that blends regulatory expertise with strong floor presence to build a culture where safety, compliance, and accountability are part of how work gets done every day.

You’ll implement, maintain, and continuously improve EHS programs to ensure compliance with all applicable regulations, company policies, and industry best practices. Working closely with operations, maintenance, HR, and leadership, you’ll identify risks, lead corrective actions, support training, and influence safe behaviors across the organization. This role requires regular time on the floor and between sites—approximately 60% in Irwindale and 40% in Santa Fe Springs—based on operational needs.

Schedule is Monday–Friday, 7:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m. This is a full-time, exempt position that regularly requires extended hours and occasional weekend work to support operations.

Principal Responsibilities (Accountabilities):
•    Develop, implement, and monitor EHS programs, policies, and procedures to ensure compliance with OSHA, EPA, and other applicable regulations.

•    Conduct Monthly/Quarterly Supervisor and Lead Training.
•    Provide Monthly Training on Rotating Topics.
•    Perform Site Safety Compliance Inspections (Monthly).
•    Conduct Certified Forklift Operator Training.
•    Conduct job hazard analyses (JHAs) and recommend appropriate risk mitigation strategies.
•    Monitor workplace conditions and coordinate necessary improvements to reduce injuries and environmental impact.
•    Ensure proper use of personal protective equipment (PPE) and safety measures.
•    Develop and present safety training programs, including new hire orientations, toolbox talks, and refresher courses.
•    Investigate workplace accidents and near-misses, providing reports and recommendations for prevention.
•    Support ergonomic assessments and workplace wellness initiatives.
•    Work closely with site supervisors and employees to ensure adherence to safety protocols.
•    Coordinate EHS committee meetings and drive engagement in safety initiatives.

Qualifications:

•    Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Science, Occupational Health & Safety, Industrial Hygiene, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
•    Minimum of 3-5 years of EHS experience in a manufacturing, industrial, or similar environment.
•    Strong knowledge of OSHA, EPA, and state/local environmental and safety regulations.
•    Certification such as CSP, ASP, CHMM, or CIH is preferred but not required.
