Stryten Energy manufactures proprietary and custom injection molding products serving the industrial lead battery, automotive and consumer markets. Stryten Energy is expanding battery poly manufacturing and recycling output to help solve industry-wide supply constraints.

Responsible for maintaining the operational readiness and maximizing the production efficiency of any of the multiple stations tooling Cold Form Department production equipment. This will include setting up, running production, troubleshooting, and making repairs to this Cold Form equipment and tooling. This position will also be responsible for maintaining the established quality standards required by Stryten Energy and customer needs.

  • Safety is our overriding priority. If an unsafe condition is found to exist, actions must be taken immediately to correct the situation to keep all team members safe and get manufacturing equipment operational as soon as possible.
  • Responsible to produce parts on any of the multiple station tooling Cold Header production lines. This to include but is not limited to the following:
  • Maximizing production efficiency of any of the multiple station tooling Cold Header production lines.
  • Compliance with quality control requirements of all parts made on any of the multiple station tooling Cold Header production lines.
  • Tooling setup and changeover of all production parts made on any of the multiple station tooling Cold Header production lines while minimizing downtime of the line.
  • Diagnosing any/all problems affecting the efficient running of any of the multiple station tooling Cold Header production lines and completes the fix/solution to minimize downtime, scrap, etc.
  • Runs CMM checks as needed to ensure quality product.
  • Aids with training and changeovers on Cold Form lines as needed.
  • Making corrections and/or repairs to keep equipment running efficiently; this includes (but is not limited to)
  • Hydraulic and pneumatic circuits, and repair/replacement of hydraulic or pneumatic components.
  • Electrical circuits
  • Mechanical components such as clutches, belts, gears, chains, sprockets, etc.
  • Completing all required production and quality control daily paperwork.
  • Communicating with Cold Form Technicians, Cold Form Tool and Machine repair person(s), Cold Form Manufacturing Engineer, and Cold Form manager when problems and issues with production arise.
  • Communicating verbally and/or in writing with incoming or preceding personnel on status of all equipment, parts, manufacturing or quality problems.
  • Training any new or backup Cold Form Department employees.
  • Completing preventative maintenance tasks as assigned by Production Management.
  • Reports unsafe conditions to the Supervisor for immediate action.
  • The above list of responsibilities describes normal work, but the Supervisor may assign this person to duties not listed when production requirements dictate or when there is not enough work in the regular classification to fill out the workday.
  • Responsible for the development and implementation of manufacturing methods ensuring the highest quality, lowest cost, lowest scrap and optimum capacity.
  • Attend all Management meetings and training sessions, safety committee meetings, and all employee meetings as required by upper management.
  • Follow all ISO 9000 requirements, including creating and maintaining ISO documents.
  • Other responsibilities as assigned to meet the needs of the business.

Education, Experience, Certifications

  • High School diploma or GED equivalent.
  • Previous experience operating and setting up cold heading machines.
  • Must be a well-motivated self-starter and work well with others without supervision, showing professionalism in all areas of daily work.
  • Proven satisfactory work history (attendance and performance). This must be maintained. Attendance is critical to this position.
  • Must be able to be trained on how to read and understand the Stryten engineering blueprints.
  • Must function well in a team environment and must communicate well with others.
  • Must be able to maintain efficient operation of the Cold Form Press Lines to manufacture quality parts at the standard manufacturing rate.
  • Must be able to set up the Cold Form Lines for different production parts. This includes installation of press tooling, saw tooling, and thread roller / hole punch tooling, and adjustment of all machine parameters on the entire line.
  • Must be able to maintain efficient operation of the Extrusion and Casting Lines to manufacture quality parts at the standard manufacturing rate.
  • Must be willing to learn how to set up the Casting and Extrusion Lines for different production parts.
  • Must be willing to learn the process of installation of extrusion tooling and adjustment of machine parameters.
  • Must have excellent mechanical skills and be good with hand tools. (Test)
  • Must be proficient at using a personal computer running Windows. Must be able to open, close, and save files.
  • Must be proficient and accurate using Go/No go Gages, Inside/Outside micrometer, Vernier, Dial Indicator, height Gage, Telescoping Gage. (Test)
  • Must become proficient on the job to be able to diagnose problems with flow controls, grippers, slides, fittings, and hoses and must be able to replace these components as needed to keep machinery operating properly.
  • Must be able to diagnose problems with mechanical components such as belts, pulleys, keys, chains, sprockets, and clutches and must be able to replace these components as needed to keep machinery operating properly.
  • Must be able to maintain efficient operation of the Cold Heading Lines to manufacture quality parts at the standard manufacturing rate.
  • Must be able to set up the Cold Heading Lines for different production parts. This includes installation and adjustment of punches and dies, machine parameters, transfer system, and thread rolling operation.
  • Must be able to operate a Direct Computer Controlled CMM for measuring parts. Must be able to run existing programs, calibrate probes, and set up CMM fixtures.
  • Must have completed forklift driver training program.
  • Must show flexibility and readiness for innovations to move the company forward.
  • Other duties that may be assigned by your supervisor.
  • Must have own hand tools as determined by management.
  • Qualifications must be gained six (6) months after training has begun in any skill offered.
  • Must have the ability and willingness to work overtime on an as needed/required basis in order to complete work in process and communicate with other shifts.
